FISHING SEASON 2K11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Im surprised everyone is still catching a few fish! I havent caught anything since the snow all the way back in october. I'm waiting now for the ice-out to finally get back out fishing! I'm already taking out the ice fishing gear and getting it in decent condition in hopes for some ice sometime.

I never been but I'm willing to try(once), hit me up when the time is right !

Fish landed-1

The dog(sonnie)and I hit up bakers basin and AMC for 45 minutes each. The basin was dead and amc started out the same way but I walked to where the creek hits the main lake. It had alot of small bait fish and sure enough there was a few crappie feeding. Landed one and missed two.....

A 11" crappie gave me that feeling I fiend for !!!

With the temps in the upper 70's I had to hit the beach this afternoon for any pompano that may be straggling behind the main run.

Got there around 3PM and the bite was slow. Didnt have the first hit until 4:20 and it was a small keeper pomp. Then just 10 minutes later I got another hit, this pomp was a bit better and for what ever reason at only 2lbs he was pulling out drag like a monster. By far the hardest fighting pomp Ive caught all year and he was far from the biggest. Anyhow that was it for the day but couldnt complain about the weather or the scenery.

Tomorrow AM I am taking out the boat and hitting the bridges for some sheepshead!

First pic was taken from the pier right before I hit the beach (thats not a dark cloud, its smoke from the AC-130's unleashing hell at the Eglin AFB firing range) and the second was the beautiful sunset.

Landed one carp in about 3 hours. I have pics but I'm on my phone. The canal was super muddy and the fishing isn't awesome when it's like that no matter the time of year. At 7 lb 2 oz I am not disappointed for a short session in muddy water in December. Will be getting to Florida next Sunday.

Took the boat out this morning and hit a local bridge in the sound. The sheepies were ever where but didnt start biting until about 10:00 and my fishing buddy had to leave at 10:45. Caught six and brought these two home. Shoulda caught more but I broke off several times using only 6lb test plus if we had more time Im sure I could have limited out. Fish ate fiddler crabs.

Also had a bald eagle soaring over us earlier in the morning which was a pleasant sighting.
