We never measured or weighted it. But we estimates it to about 5,5-6 kg (12-13 lbs). Caught a pike in the same size the day before and it weighted 5,5 kg. Maybe even the same pike? I caught both on my new favorite bait!

I replaced the treble hooks to single hooks, so it won't hurt the fish as much and to make it easier to get the hook out. It works pretty well I think 
cold day out on the ohio river. hit the warm water discharge and stocked up on plenty of skipjack for bait. caught 2 blues (my first ever) but biggest about 3 pounds. oh well. nice to finally get one. small fish nibbling all day nonstop.
Congrats Josh, always fun to get something new! What was the water temp at the discharge and in the main river? Been windy and cold around here and havent been fishing. Dad and I just got a humminbird 898c SI with Downimaging and side scan. Probably wont be able to use it for awhile but damn am i excited, also got a minn kota 80lb riptide so we can do some drifiting and for when the engine dies so we dont have to paddle!!!
Water temp in the main river was 48 and the warm water discharge was into the 60's, not sure of the exact. The current was tearing out of the discharge. I thought about you catching flatties at your discharge and wondered if it would work there. Sounds like you got some fun new toys! The guy I fished with had some fancy hummingbird system. Those sure are nice.
If there is flatties in the area they should be in there. funny somedays it seems like the little fish are hogging all the good discharge and there isnt a big one to find. USGS says susquehanna is around 40 degrees the discharge probably is in the low 50's if even that high. I think were done for the year probably head to the potomac/susquehanna discharge in the early spring when the water starts to rise.
