went at it for a few hours today. Disaster almost struck. I was reeling in a fish on one rod and one that was about 15 yards away.. SPLASH goes an Abu 6500c3 and Ugly Cat. The water I was fishing was only about 4 ft deep and I could still see the butt of the rod so I let the fish I was reeling in freespool and jumped in! Got the rod AND THE FISH! Unfortunately the one that I was reeling in got off during the whole ordeal, but sure glad I got my reel back. Caught half a dozen carp, biggest 6 pounds and one little one that I kept for flathead bait. Also got probably 10 channels and kept a few for supper. Got into tons of crappie and kept the biggest 3 for supper too. Couple real nice shad made it to the freezer too. Also adding pics of my bait tank.
EDIT Have to restart comp, iPhoto not working right. Upload pics in few...
Ice fishin' in early Feb. lake trout and rainbows largest fish was a 24" Lake trout, beautiful coloration.
I pulled just about 20 out of the lake I think.

Na at this lake I sit a big rock on the end and keep the rod tip high and spool locked so the circle hooks set and the rods load up. It always works because the average size is 3-5 lbs but a 10^ may give me trouble with that.
