FISHING SEASON 2K12!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
part of me wants to return the full extreme rod and reel combo, get $160 for it, buy that carbonlite rod for my jm gold, use the other 60 and my 50 in cards towards the silvermax and fierce..... oh man does that rod look nice (no homo)

must.. not... fall... for... marketing... and looks...

its funny because after taking apart my bass pro reels for maintenance around christmas i swore i wouldn't waste my money on any more bass pro reels if i can help it. any idea if the silvermax has brass gears or plastic? that was my biggest problem with the bass pro reels plastic gears are unacceptable

nvm just looked brass gears in the silvermax. looks like that is the current direction for me then

yep, definitely think u should get the big one though.. got bored in class and looked at it some more, that thing is a hoss. one review guy used it trolling for striped marlin?!?! i mean wtf?!!

just sold an older flueger spinning reel and a rod for $35 and a bubble coral for $30... that pays for the penn fierce all in itself without so much as touching my gift cards or return for that bps extreme... at this rate if i get the full $80 in return for the extreme i'll be able to pay around 30 for the rod for the penn, 60 for the silver max, and still after tax have around 30 bucks to spend on lures/line in gift cards :)

you really think it'll go out that fast? I get to the beach to fish MAYBE 6-7 times a year tops and always rinse my reels down and lube em up after every trip.. i've grown up using fairly cheap reels at the beach with good results. is there a specific part that tends to give out that i could possibly replace? what was your negative experience with it? i've been looking around for bad reviews but haven't found many. I'm not doubting you I just need to find some overwhelming evidence that it wouldn't last me 3-4 years as little as i get to use it, at $60 if it dies after 3-4 years i consider that worth while. thanks for the insight

also willing to consider quantum blue pt, daiwa regal, or penn spinfisher... we'll see, look forward to ur response

JD knows Penn if my memory serves me right. I personally can't see it going out that fast with limited use, but I don't surf fish and I have never tried that reel. I do know that I have Abu Cardinal spinning reels that have seen salt 4-5 times now and don't have any issues and I would probably consider them in the same class
