lost a NIIIIICE 6-7lb bass today... i hate fishing soft plastics so much... i havent lost a fish on a hardbait in 2 years but every big fish I get on a plastic ends up getting off it seems.

to make my day worse i snagged and caught a dead decaying chicken. unfreakinbelievable
 
I may be able to fly fish this saturday it will grt up to around 52 degrees so i hope it will be warm enough

I'm hoping to go out this weekend and catch a nice red breasted sunfish or a pretty bluegill for the tank.

I had been planning to go fishing today for a week and for the first time this year got some fly fishing in. I waded hickmans creek here in ky without waders and was freezing the whole time. I fished for 4 hours broke a fly rod and caught two fish. My best was my first smallmouth bass in years and a the other was a enthusiastic creek chub. It was one of those tragic days where nothing goes well but the 11inch smallmouth was fun to fight. I caught them on a red and black wooly bugger.
