I headed out this morning on my pond and I was using topwaters. I decided to try out my baitcaster as I was using only my spinners. So I cast out a yum green watermelon 5" crawfish texas rigged. By the way the line is 12 pd spiderwire mono. Im on my kayak fishing the flooded treeline when BAM I get a huge hit and my 7' very stiff baitcaster bends like its one of those dora fishing poles. Then I go and start to reel it in and the fish goes directly under the front of the kayak and unhooks itself in the process. I see it swimming to the right of me and I can say without any exxageration this was an 8+ lb bass. It was an absolute monster. Im really pissed at myself for not being able to catch this absolute lunker of a bass. But ill hopefully get another shot and ill be heading out again in a couple minutes

Plastics are the way to go I have lost a few 8 pound bass and it sucks but you will get them don't worry

Lol with my luck ill go to try noodling on the delaware and stick my hand in a walleyes mouth. Thats why I havent tried it yet. Im going to get my scuba gear and go diving where I normally fish though in the delaware and see what I can see down there. Might even just wear my surfing wetsuit and a snorkel and goggles and some flippers. I should be good that way. Ive just gotta go pick up a snorkel set to do so. Ill see when I can go
 
Just picked up another baitcaster! Its an abu garcia vendetta rod and a wright and mcgill tournament reel and some 14 pound braid. Sweet setup but I cant go fishing until like 630 because my suburn is really bad and I cant risk going out like this

Dont use them! Snakeheads are non native but racers do more good than harm. I am no green peace person or whatever but they are really cool animals
