nice man. did you check out lassiter? those trees still there?
@jacunaba those white sea bass are the ONLY west coast fish I'm jealous of... great work!
@decker those grouper are nice! thought it was illegal to remove em fully from the water?
I'm foaming at the mouth for my new reel.. Decided on the Penn Fathom 25N for general purpose bottom fishing, vertical jigging for amberjack, and pitching baits for dolphin/kings. All metal body 25lbs of drag 40" return per crank... Ordering it from amazon tonight or tomorrow. Should handle just about anything that swims in the waters I'll be fishing.. Today went to bass pro picked up an ugly stik tiger jigging rod a spool of 25lb ande mono for backing and a spool of 50lb power pro. Setup will have 175 yards of 25lb mono and 150 yards of 50lb powerpro on top, only time I'll get to the mono will be on the pelagics. I absolute cannot wait for my reel to get in and spooled up. Also picked up a 5oz butterfly jig to start out with.
Yeah I went to Lassiter too, this hole was just a little downstream of the bridge ( had to wade a little to get there.) it's crazy. The storm changed everything. There is now suddenly a little sandy beach between the falls and the bridge. There were a few trees up on the side of the water but the falls looked safe to fish. Me and my freinds are gunna try and get down there next week if the water is low enough.nice man. did you check out lassiter? those trees still there?

Yeah, it's crazy. I've fished there for 2 1/2 years and the geography of the creek has never changed like that until just a week or two ago.Nice.. guess the trees got pushed down a little bit then. That sand is ridiculous isnt it?? its been there since that huge storm
For future reference it is illegal to remove them from the water and it is well enforced with fines up to $1600(in florida). I wouldn't post anymore pictures of them out of the water as LEO's do watch this site on occasion. Also, not sure how it is where you are but a snook tag is required in many places to remove them from the water as well. Interesting tidbit on why you can't bring the groupers on board: "The skeletal structure of large goliath grouper cannot adequately support their weight out of the water without some type of damage. If a large goliath grouper is brought on-board a vessel it is likely to sustain some form of internal injury. Thus, if the fish is harmed it could be considered harvested by definition. As stewards of our resources, this is something we should avoid. It also means the fish is "harvested" according to the rules, and goliath groupers may not be harvested."Idk, we were in a really tiny boat bro. We dehooked them, took pics and let them go. 1st time catching grouper like that, if we did it wrong it was unintentional. Got a 4.5 ft shark to the boat b4 it cut the leader. We let all the snook go too.
