NCStateFisher, that thing is HUGE! That's less than a pound away from passing the NJ state record! Awesome catch!

I still can't get out on the water, there's still too much ice here :( but I'm still getting prepped. Just got my new rod combo from Bass Pro Shops in the mail today. 7' BPS Graphite Series Muskie Rod with an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur SX rigged with 50 lb Power Pro. Looking forward to using it soon.

Hope you like your new abu combo, I've found their quality is dropping rapidly but they still make a few good values - what is the NJ State Record? my PB bass in 2012 should have it beat if a 9lb4oz was less than a lb away ;)
 
there is no worse feeling than a grouper gettin taken by the man in the gray suit... brb need new boxers!!

Thanks! The NJ state record is actually 10 lbs 14 oz so a little more than a pound away, but still extremely close!
 
Here's the best fish I got the first time I went out. Going fishing tomorrow so hoping for a good day

wear em out baseball!!

headed up to the roanoke river for the shad run yesterday. between my buddy and I we caught 64 total, kept our 10/ea limit and now I have a healthy amount of bait and chum for offshore fishing ;)

all right bro, looking awesome! I never have any luck for shad around my area, I can see them swimming right next to my bait but they have never ONCE even hit it. What kind off boat do you use for offshore man? I hate using my 21 foot non-fishing boat anywhere but erie since it's so hard to drive in tight areas but it's definitely a necessity in erie with the waves we get up there, especially when you're about a mile and a half offshore in 70 feet water :).
