That old of an outback had leaking issues at the drive well. Also had the older GEN mirage drive, the older knobs to seat the drive instead of the click and go and they also didnt have the twist and stow rudder. I would pass unless you can get it for a few hundred cheaper.
If you dont mind spending some coin, look for a used Pro Angler 14. Its a pig but it will give you plenty of room. Its also very easy to stand in, really it is the ultimate fishing kayak but youd be hard pressed to find one used for less than two grand.
Thought they fixed the hull cracking issues in 06 or was it after that?Or is that something different. Also what year did they update the drive system? But unfortunately 1g is where he is at no matter what. He also has an 05 that I could get cheap but is well well used from my understanding.
Those pro anglers really are amazing saw them there too. I can get the demo for 2049 before tax at the local place. Only downfall seems to be weight and speed. If I am spending double though over others, I start looking into boats haha as I thought my original price point was pushing it for first kayak. Who knows at this point may wait till winter when people hopefully start dealing appropriately.
If jackson kayaks coupled with a hobie drive system I think I would be set. That would be the ultimate kayak.
Not sure if I like the native drive kayaks. Good idea, just doesn't look like it was executed well.
