fishless, or overload it with feeder comets and more food than they know what to do with. only problem... comets are a total PITA in a big tank, i did them on my 500g and what a nightmare
That's a tough one, but I would wait until the tank is weeell established. It's just that clown loaches, especially ones under 3", are already so prone to getting ich that I would hold off for a better chance with them.
Well I won a few auctions on aquabid yesterday. 10 cardinal tetras,10 glow tetras,(not the ones that are injected with crap) 6 kuhli loaches, and 5 zebra loaches. Hope stability works. Hopefully I get the fish Tuesday or Wednesday
Does stability work? Yes. Obviously.
Does it work with 100% reliability? Are bacteria immortal and invincible? No.
Does it work immediately? No. The bacteria supplied in the bottle are unlikely to be completely sufficient. You have to wait for them to multiply, and they're not effective until they're at sufficient population because their population goes up exponentially. This means that there will be some buildup of ammonia/nitrite before stability takes care of it.
The simplest solution to these problems is to do a fishless cycle with stability. It should take less than a week if stability's claims are true. Add ammonia 3ppm, add stability, wait for ammonia/nitrite to zero, add fish.

whats fishless cyling?
i vote for stability or any proven BB in the bottle.
be sure to follow the instruction, all you need to do is lets the water heat up to the temp u fish going to be..thats all the waiting time.
its works and no wait for weeks or months..
Fishless cycle and stability are 2 different things.
Fishless cycling is adding liquid ammonia into the water and let bacteria naturally establish.
Stability is a bacteria booster which jumpstarts the cycle. Even if you add stability, you will still need to cycle it. Be it fish or liquid ammonia. Else the bacteria from Stability you introduced would die from starvation and makes adding it pointless.
If you're concerned about water quality while using Stability, you can always dose with Prime...
I've cycled tanks with Stability with more sensitive species than cardinals. How about elephant noses?
