fishless cycling advice

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just a little update from the last two days. Things still seem to be going as they should I think. However nothings really changed. Is that normal? I'm wondering if it is due to high amount of ammonia?

Nitrites
56 hours - 1ppm
70 hours - 1ppm

Ammonia
56 hours - 5ppm
70 hours - 4ppm

Nitrates
56 hours - 10ppm
70 hours - 10ppm

PH and Temp
70 hours - Constant 7.2 and 82.4 degrees

What do you all think? Oh and I removed my filter cartridges out of my Emperor 400's because they have carbon in them and the LFS said to remove them with putting the stuff in. Should I put the cartridges back in or just keep them out till the cycle finishes?

Not sure why there hasn't really been a change in anything. Maybe it's normal? Nitrates have gone up to 20ppm and the ammonia seems to drop 1-2ppm in about 24 hours after adding every day. I think I might try not adding for a day since the level is so high and see if it goes down at all.

Nitrites
1ppm

Nitrates
20ppm

Ammonia
4ppm

Should I put my filter cartridges back in? They do have carbon in them. It's been days since I added the bacteria boost
