Fishless Cycling Please Help!!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
because you still have much ammonia and nitrite in your tank and your bacteria colony could not "eat" them all yet. Dose less ammonia in the future and more water change. When Ammonia and nitrite get to 0 and nitrate stays at low level, your tank is ready.

For the pass two days I did 35% water change everyday. This afternoon I did another 50% WC then I took some ready of the water and it turns out like this: From left to right is Ammonia, Nitrite then Nitrade.View attachment 724303
Does anyone knows why is my Nitrate still so high?

Please advise! Thanks!

They are high, I would not worry why for now just wait for the nitrites to drop down, should not be much longer. You can even add a few drops of ammonia to get it back up to 0.5 ppm so the bacteria don't starve. When the nitrites are gone just do a 95% change then add fish and do a few more large changes the next few days to make sure the nitrates are low.

Last night I added some ammonia and keep it to 2ppm at around 10pm
Here is my reading for today at 12pm....

Is this mean that the cycling is done now or what? Am I ready for fish now guys? It has been 15 days now.

Add enough Ammonia to bring the level to 2ppm and then test again in 24 hours. If you have 0 ammonia AND 0 nitrIte then, I would say you are cycled. I would then do at least a 40% water change to bring the nitrAte down to 20ppm.

You are almost there!!

I think you are good to go, I would do a huge (98%) water change to get the nitrates down to 5 then add some fish. It may take up to 2 weeks for the bio to mature enough where you don't see that hint (0.25) of ammonia. I would just use prime/safe to treat your water.
