Any chance you can help with gh and kh? I'm not understanding how to read the tests.. gh was 13 drops and kh was 5
The test kit should have a conversion of drops to ppm in the instructions. GH is like all the minerals and things in the water mostly positive cations like Mg and Ca. It sounds like you have moderately hard water. And then the KH is the alkalinity. The alkalinity is what keeps the pH stable when your animals are respirating. It is also an important source of material for the biofiltration bacteria. Where you need those values to be depends on what things you want to keep in your tank.
