I recently came across this type of cycling but most of the info i have on how to do it is kinda vague. How does this compare to fish in cycling and would it work for my new 180 gallon freshwater setup. I am going to put 1 red bay snook, 2 oscars, 2 jags, a sailfin pleco, and a fire eel.

itll work for any size tank. do a quick seach for fishless cycling here on MFK. youll find all the info you need

It's excellent for large tanks with big bio-loads.

You can get the filter to where you won't have an ammonia spike when you add your fish and you can add more fish at one time.

Plus your not jeopardizing any fish in the process.

After you've read up on it here if you still have questions just ask.
