Alright James , I'm pretty certain matt's used regular builders expanding foam once its coated up in concrete there's no worry about fish friendly once its sealed in

I just used 3x2's to make a frame first before placing wood and rocks.il upload a pic of it i can get behind it. Yeah i just used regular builders expanding foam then covered it in sand and cement then a final coat of just cement, but before i run it il be putting a coat of clear g4 pond sealer all over the cement except from certain areas where i want moss to grow. Ive been to the local woods today and collected some moss (about a square metre) and attached it to the rocks, il upload the latest pics today
 
Hi james i forgot to answer your question about the steel ties, i connected them together into a loop and put a layer in the cement every 4 inches, and i also bent some for the corners to reinforced the corners a bit more. But i still have to round the corners off with cement as soon as the floor is poured in so that will reinforce even more, and the floor is 50mm celotex insulation topped with 2 layers of chicken wire then around 4inch of concrete. Ive also decided to build a small island which will be hollow which will be nice for the rtc to hide and the island will be a basking area for the musk turtles, i was going to have a flat part on the rock wall for the turtles but i think a small island will look better

Hi danny thanks for the good comments, i hope this is what you mean about the hangover planks, im just waiting on some 3 way splitters from china so i can connect the bulkheads up.
