fishtank mirror

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would only use it once in a while, maybe to show any people who go to your house how agressive he can be. Maybe you can repurpose the mirror somehow instead of tossing it too.

Other than that I'm sure if he likes his reflection he will stare at himself in the tank glass, my male salvini does that just to look at himself and it's hilarious because he ends up doing that instead of defending his fry.

I don't want to sound like a lawyer, but, I was just posting that as an fyi. Imo, I would not use a mirror after reading that. Certainly there are a lot of species where aggression seems to play little or no role in their biology where a mirror just isn't that negative. Even for aggressive fish, mirrors don't kill them or cause disease, so it's not like ich or ammonia.

But mirrors do seem to cause unnatural and unwanted neural conditions in the fish brain.

Would it be enough to cause a fish to eat less, be more aggressive with other fish, have a lower immune system, avoid parts of the tank, etc.? Tbh, I have no idea. That's a conjecture at the moment.
yes thankyou for the opinion bro it really helped me understand more ✌️

Don't put the mirror in there for ever just do a regular excersice with him so to Max out his personality and his colours but don't do it more than 5 minutes as it stress them out.
i've used it for 15 mins bro after i fed him we do it regularly, he seemed very active after 15 mins of staring and circling the mirror
