Thats a waste of money- just paint the plywood sheet that goes under the tank black and leave the bottom clear. Your bottom will look all black

I have 2 big acrylic tanks one with a 1/4" black acrylic sheet laminated on the bottom and the other with the plywood painted. Night and day difference the acrylic looks 100x better. I'll spend the money no doubt about it. If a tank builder doesn't want to build it the way I want, I needed to look elsewhere For the kind of money big tanks cost I want it exactly the way I want

I did both methods. I sent an email with specific tanks specs because I had multiple options I wanted priced. I then followed up with a call. I will say they seem very busy so it takes days for them to get back to you. This was actually the case with every manufacturer I reached out to. Emails were not immediately responded to as they don't constantly check the email box (like once a day) but very responsive once you call.

Do they use a piece of black acrylic or they laminate it? Not sure if there is even a difference. I do bare bottom now, so I actually love the idea of doing a black bottom.
 
I have a piece of 1/4" laminated in on bottom and back wall. You can get regular 3/4" panels in black but they are double the money
