Now that's a true CB ansorgii, nice! Most of the CB ansorgii I've seen that are being posted here are hybrids.
agree. i think all the other CB ones i've seen posted here that are apparently popping up around the globe are hybrids or at least not pure bred (e.g. may be a parent is hybrid etc). People need to stop calling them pure ansorgii. I have one too, and i'm convinced that's the case, still nice patterns though.

I just got 2 ansorgii x endli from my supplier and looks exactly like the CB ansorgii that were posted from other people's tread. Example would be Hao's CB ansorgii is actually a hybrid. I seen more but can't remember their username.

With only just few years ago that ansorgii have beem reintroduced to science and been captive breed. They are not even breed in mass numbers such as endli, polli, del, ornate, lap and sene. I don't think it will produce those weird patterns as we've seen in endli. As endli have been mixed with different regional variant and been breed for a long time now and that what made them to look like those.

That can explain the spoonhead. :D

The spoonhead actually is not what made it blew it cover. I've large wc ansorgii with spoonheads.

The entire headshape and pattern what tells it apart.

I know I'm just saying, I can see how the spoonhead popped in when it was only 13". ;) Probably the Endli's gene or something. :)

Makes sense! Very cool info, I had no clue, but I did know that I didn't like the headshape of the CB ansorgii, it's why I never jumped at the chance to get one.

But even so, this tokyo breed looks better than the wild caught ones I've seen.

It has that nice sloped and rounded head shape of nigerian laps. I hate the pancake face cb endli. :irked:

I'm not sure if the OP got it from Kamihata as Kamihata is one of the top breeders for bichirs and first to breed PBB and ansorgii. Also producer of the best fish food "Hikari". They always have top quality bichirs with cert as well.
