hey you know they did dna testing on the snakeheads from the crofton pond and the ones from potomac river and guess what..

Turns out they are the same species but different family trees.. Meaning they aren't walking to the potomoc.. who would've figured?

I like how they mixed "might be able to walk" into a documentary that said "they can walk" like a 100 times each...Which is it? If that is walking, I have a plec that can RUN!!:ROFL::ROFL:

It's been interesting to hear all the backlash against Fishzilla. 2 more points on my end:

1) someone mentioned that they have these fish are all over hawaii...in this show, we only covered the Northern snakehead (channa argus) and the Giant snakehead (channa micropeltes). The ones in Hawaii are the chevron, and obviously are NOT invasive. It was impossible to cover all the different kinds of snakeheads in a one-hour show.

2) the point of the DNA testing wasn't to test if the northern snakehead "walked" from Crofton to the Potomac. The results basically show that the Crofton snakeheads were separately introduced into the Potomac (by human hands) and were not transported via the Little Patuxtent River as some scientists feared.

Again, thanks for the feedback. It's fun to read. But was there anything
you guys actually enjoyed about the show?

It was actually pretty funny. Other than the inadvertent humor it sucked. If the ":nilly:" smiley was playing at the bottom right corner of the screen it would have made more sense. ("OH NOES!! EVERYONE PANIC!!")

No nothing at all it was a total hachet job ,i'm glad I live in the UK and can still keep these marvellous animals.

Oh and in answer to a line in point 1 "The ones in Hawaii are the chevron, and obviously are NOT invasive." ....again utter rubbish.
The native range of Channa Striata is Asia (most of it).
It was introduced into Hawaii commercially pre 1900 as a food fish as it is still through out most of southern Asia to this day.Actually the species involved was not Channa striata but C. maculata, another misnomer the result of century-old misidentifications.

Considering there are"to many Snakehead species to fit in a 1 hr program" and that they are the Anti christ with fins don't you find it surprising that there are any fish left in Asia at all?
