So lots of threads about size and type and wattage, but I don't see anything about fitting the lights.
So I have a 90 gallon 48L, 18D, 24T. Right now I have just fish and 54 watts of T5 HO lighting, linked below (one red 6000k and one white 10000k I think)

I have tried a few plants, swords, anubais, java moss, and they all slowly die over a month or two.
So it's about 0.6 watts per gallon right now. I could MAYBE fit 1 more fixture and still open the lid, so 1.2 watts per gallon. To get up to 2 watts per gallon I'd need to hassle with lifting the light every time I feed the fish.
So, how do people even fit 3-4 watts per gallon over their tank? Is it normal to remove the lighting every time to feed? I find it strange no one else has this problem.....
I also did the lumens calculations and its even worse, somewhere around 60 right now, which is at the low end of "just fish"
And yes, my tank is a dull yellow. I have goldfish in there and at the store I bought a black one and a golden brown one, under this lighting they are both brownish.
