Thats what the package says, "414 300um" meaning 4"x14" and 300microns. I was thinking about upgrading the 1" outlets to 1 1/2" outlets, hoping that the same flow at a slower speed might help but at this point, I'm not sure of anything.
Upgraded the outlets, didn't help, switched back to the 1" outlets and again cleaned the socks. Have been reinstalled for about an hour now and so far ao good. Lets hope it lasts. Really can't be cleaning my socks every couple of hours.
Can see a small amount of waste on them but not much. This time they lasted for about 3-4hrs before over flowing. Better I guess, just not what I was hoping for. Maybe if I continue to clean them daily, they will begin to work right. Maybe I have a lot of suspended particulate in the water. It looks clear but who knows, just guessing know.
What is your stock like on this tank? Also, what size tank is it? I am just trying to wrap my head around what could be causing this.
That's just what I was thinking. Gonna try and get to the LFS tomorrow and pick up a couple of the poly style socks and try them. Thanks for all the help and I'll post the results.
Well, today I swapped out my 300 micron nylon socks for 200 micron poly socks and so far so good. We're going on 5 hours and no overflow yet. I know the water was full of suspended particulates today b/c just before the swap, I did a wc and gravel vac. Let's hope they work like they should.
