By the looks of the stomach, it appeared like a nice healthy fish just shortly ago or it could be suffering a bit of bloat to really put him behind the eight ball

No way, that fish has multiple issues and the ulcers are a pain to get rid of, I have an indo that developed them when he gets too stressed and ur pretty much stuck treating w salt and meds for months at a time before u see progress. Unless that was your only hope for an st but even then that's way way way too much for something in that shape.

I'll be honest, i dont think that fish will survive the tank change if you purchase him ... really upsetting to see any fish in that condition, then considering its an ST, very upsetting ... if he is still eating that's a great sign, but still not worth the 500 dollar risk in my opinion ... either way i hope the fish pulls through and recovers

It is all about risk tolerance and gambling on the health of the fish... think about it this way, if you go to a casino what are you willing to gamble to win 2000 dollars? and in stead of chance or "card skill" you are betting on your ability to heal the fish and/or its chance at recovery.

Not very long ago I bought a perfectly healthy ST for four hundred dollars so no way I'd fork over five for this one lol.I probably would try and haggle and save the fish if it were sompeplace not too far from me in the states.

Haha...which part of that quote are you referring to?
