fixing my crack

i had a huge crack in my 55 and i used bath tub silicone to seal, should it hold ??????

Could you be more descriptive of where it cracked, how you sealed it, etc. Have any pics?

i have no pics but, i was moving a chair in my room and hit it, it cracked started leaking i moved my fish into 2 twenty gallons they all died, i took the silicone and rub a thick layer on the glass and let it cure, i filled up the tank and let it sit for 2 days and it hasnt leaked so far

Without pictures it's hard to say but I don't think I'd trust it.

Sounds really bad to me,Id expect it to leak in a few days.Plus bathtub seal usually has mildewcides which will kill your fish.

That's not gonna hold. unless u can a acrylic glass piece to tape on the inside.. But if the crack is on the side.. its usually a goner.. u can fix a tank if its cracked on the bottom.. but the side... not so much..

You wont know if it will hold until the tank is full of water... and hitting it repeatedly.. isn't helping.. i would say put the water in and leave it for 2-3 days to see if it leaks.. or if the force will push the broken pieces out...
