fixing my cracked tank ! :L

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
One side would work just fine n it should inside tank,..but bigger tank might different..tht sandwich idea also can do..the most important is u must spread a bit more silicone along the crack, based on ur photo, it just dont enough..n make sure it completely cured before u fill water..id say a week if possible..when u fill water must in stages..

I suspect is sharizan right, silione alone will not take the pressure.
Better to put another pane of glass over the entire length of the crack and silcone it in.
And unless you have an old pane laying around, it may not be worth the cost on such a small tank.
But just to get experience learning to fix one, has a different type of worth/value.
I like to use 2 panes and sandwich the crack, but that's on much bigger tanks, 1 might work on that small one. (like this)

Wow..duanes, ur crack was on the side tank..then those sandwich ideas sure make sense, but if apply on bottom crack it would create uneven surface for tank to sit on..
Anyway u done a good job there..i thought side crack impossible to be fixed, but yet i guess its all depends on the severity or crack itself..whether can be repaired or not..

Not sure what you mean?
I used quarter inch glass on both outside and inside, and beside silicone on the border of each pane, a bead of silione on the crack itself.

nver mind. hahah. how did u silicone it tht smooth? i silicone mine and it's kinda rough looking. :L is it okay? newbie though. :D
