i watched that nasa tv for an hour lol

The upload thing killed the sequence. They are really cool when they are in order. These are really from November '02. My friend and I were in the river by the space center. It is the closest you can get without being chased by security.

The order got screwed up again in the above pics. The last one captured the burnout of the solid engines. They have separated from the orbiter. The second in the sequence is really the next picture. When the boosters have burned out, the flame is blue from the hydrogen burning. The hydrogen flame is only visible at night. The shuttle slowly dims to that of a faint star. It is easy to lose but can be seen with the naked eye until it goes over the horizon.

Can you see night launches up there? I know day launches can be seen as far north as N. Carolina. Night launches light up the whole sky here so I am sure it is visible for a long way. The pics are very dark in comparison to actually being there. Cameras just don't capture the spirit of being there.:(

got a house party...

I ve seen a night launch off the coast of melbourne before, its really cool to see. I like the night launches better =) I'll prob. go watch it saturday night!
