It's a great place to live as long as you love the outdoors & believe in the constitution. Great fishing, an abundance of wildlife, the everglades, the keys, and no winter so you can enjoy these amenities year round. Also, no ridiculous gun laws. Love to go shooting. Have gators and big turtles breeding in my back yard, great bass fishing in the canal behind my house and peacock bass 2 miles away. The wife has created a native plant environment on the property and we have a multitude of butterflies breeding along with the occasional hummingbird. Spent years as a fly fishing guide for tarpon, snook and redfish.People are moving to Florida at a fast rate. It can’t be too bad.

This is like how the Pennsylvania game commission banned hedgehogs. These bureaucracies shouldn't have the ability to create laws by themselves out of thin air, these things should be decided by the state legislatures, not delegated to bureaucratic agencies.
It is supposed to be but that only seems to hold true when they get to hit a conservative over the head with the forum rules hammer. Really tired of the lopsided & biased rules based on politics. As for the other political commentary here, I thought that was against the rules of the forum, but maybe a moderator likeduanes can clarify. I am sure we all have a lot of opinions on a lot of topics, and we could make this forum intolerable in a hurry. I personally enjoy that this is a place I can come and just talk about fish.

Also, for kickbacks from corporations. They are looking to lift bans on fertilizer limits, etc. to see what happens over the next year. The colleges get funding, fertilizer companies can sell more since there are no limits and small businesses can purchase/use as much as they want... and kickbacks go to local officials who push this nonsense through, etc. Manatees and loads of fish already dying from red tides and that's WITH the limits in place...in an open conference, the official involved said something like, "it's only for a year..." which set everyone who actually cares about this kinda thing off again... THis is all after local govt. were caught trying to sneak out dead manatees on the downlow to avoid harassment and calls for reform. They would move locations during the night and take boats to locations, get the dead manatees, and boat back to the hidden location to avoid press as to not have it on the news. There's a lot of nonsense here...they wanna portray something to draw tourism and businesses...but on the slide, it's down to the $$$ and the animals and environment suffer...same thing with the PFAS and military base contaminination investigations...whole parts of the county surrounding military bases all with like 4x the number of cancers and deaths and gruesome problems...military burying toxic chemicals and selling land to deveolpers who build neighborhoods on top of them and that crap all leeched into water and those people are screwed.....yay! go FloriDUH.The state is constantly legislating against liberty, on all fronts. It’s a mess.
