they are great fish i have always had one in my tank 
i have never had problems with them sucking on rays it may be due to the fact that the flag tail always needs to keep a eye out for the aro
dont make the mistake of getting more than 1 per tank
the 1st time i got flag tails i thought they would look great in a shoal so i got 6 of them they were all fine for about 2-3months and shoaled nicely then i woke up one morning to find 1 beat to crap and i thought it was the aro then the next morning another one was killed
i managed to keep 2 in the same tank for another 1 month but one stayed at one end ot the tank the other at the other end of the tank but as soon as they saw each other it was war
i was left with one strong bad ass flag tail
