I have 6 that all get along just fine. Sizes vary from 3" up to about 7" or so.. No issues at all.

Yes, for a successful school id try for 10-12.

I got two from rich recently and they hung out together for a while then one became dominant and i separated them. during this time they did school with my clown loaches though and the one that stayed with them still does somewhat. kinda funny.

I had 7 of them from 4 to 5.5in. I had them for 5months no problems. I then sold them to VLDeisgn who seems to still not have a problem.
