Flagtail sucking slime coat

I'm keeping a flagtail with a gar and for the past month it has been fine. This week the flagtail has taken a liking to my gars slime coat. If I remove him for a week or so, is there a chance he stops? Or is it just once they start they do not stop?

ime, they don't stop. I usually buy them in batches and will always find one black sheep thats super mean...

Most flag tails do this and when they start they do not stop, They can kill fish by sucking their slime coat.

Keep them well fed, I always have a half of zuchinni in the tank at all times. He sucks through half of zuchinni in about a day or two

Yes it is a sign of not enough plant material. Once they start it bcomes a habit that is difficult to break and it will harm the other fish.

dude my flagtail was an ass it killed my jardini by doing this, imo once they hvae a target they dont like, they'll keep at it until their dead
