i have a royal pleco...
:nilly:

that is apprently chomping down wood everyday instead of eating ALGAE!
SOOOOO.
my friend told me i should go to my LFS and pick up a FEi FENG aka FLAGTAiL~

i was just wondering. about compatability with my other fishes, before buying one.

i have POLY's and THiNBAR DATS.
1 rafi catfish, and 1 ROYAL PLECO.
and lastly a 2inch softshell~

would it be wise for me to get a flagtail? [fei feng]
or should i just buy a LITTLE ORANGE SPOTTED PLECO ? [2 inches]

so many green dots! must get rid of them! :screwy:

umm which royal do you have? a little orange spotted pleco... if you dont mind small sizes, bristlenose or ottos would be better. a flagtail would look nice and i think would go with your inhabitants. id personally remove your turtle though

i would be much more worried about your softshell eating one of your fish...thou flagtails are nice

yea that would work......they do a pretty good job of eatin algae.......mine is in with my ornate bichir, pacus, aro, and a couple cichlids.........everyone gets along great........

Here's a question I have about thes fei fengs I have heard from some people that these take some time to grow and have heard the complete opposite from other people.... So what is it are they fast or slow growers... I have 3 flagtails all being about 2.5-3" would they be able to eventually move into my dat tank that holds 6-7" dats???

the feifengs grow slow from what i heard. and there usually good with anything except for stingrays cuz they like sucking off the slimecoat.

I second what Tong said...

i third it..haha

each flagtail has a diffrent temperment like all fish

they are faily slow growing and dont normally mix well together with their own kind they may be ok up to about 4-5inch then you may have a big war on your hands

their are 2 diffrent types of flag tail and i think one is more agressive than the other the only diffrence in them i have seen is one type has 9 or less stripes on its tail and the other type has 11+ stripes

the 11+ stripe type seam to grow a bit bigger than the 9 stripe but the 9 stripe has much more red in the tail

they can be kept with ray if you find one that is not intrested in them i have had 2 that were fine with rays and 2 that were not and even kept chasing and trying to suck on my aros gils

a good health aro wont put up with that crap for long and i cant see any aro getting sucked to death but with rays it can be a dander as once they get the taste for the slim on a ray they wont leave it alone

they are the best cleaner fish on the planet for me and i have a 12inch one in my ray tank that is no problem at all now its the luck of the draw
