Just thought i'd post some pics of a flagtail i got this weekend. :DMeasured him in box 11" long, 4 " deep and 1.75 inch wide at the head. I put the "beast of a fish" in with loads of other dats, who have all been on full alert mode, super stable (quite hard to find stable IT's in UK), looking REAL bold:D since adding the flagtail.
The ft really din't look as big in the sellers tank.
Anyhow, 24 hrs later, its settled in well. Probably the most peaceful fish in the tank.
Strabgely, my 5inch flagtail in same tank was bullying the big new one like crazy for about 8 hours last night:confused:. The biggee just kept running away.
No abuse this morning thank god.:)
Anyone kept more than 2 flagtails in a Tank with loads of other dats?

note: sorry about the flash.enjoy the pics

lookin NICE!
your original flagtail was just showing his dominance to the new guy.
i wouldnt expect any issues with keeping 2 flagtails in with some dats.

Wow! That tank is looking great! All you need is an Asian Aro (not sure if it's legal there).

thanks guys. Vegas...very hot there, but really cool place. How do you keep tank water cool there is beyond me!!
I had heard horror stories of flagtails incompatible in same tank. i.e. a shoal of 4 or 6 does NOT work. Hopefully, the they'll both settle.

Benzjamin: Asian Arro, although a fantastic show fish: just not for me. maybe in the years ahead:-) they are legal here, but need certs etc. & very pricy. also, don't have the tank space or strong enough filtration.

For the most part, 2 flagtails can't never live with each other, they will nturally kill one another until one dies.

Now, given plenty of space, they can establish their own territory and you won't have a problem. Keep an eye on those fei feng and remove the weaker one at any first sign of aggression. They will fight til death.

My Flagtail and Dats..

Flagtail measures at about 14-15" or so...Dats are about 10-13" (I have 2 more in the tank, but they were hididng at the time of the pic)
