I recently bought some flame moss online and it came with a yellow/green mesh (can't tell I'm color blind). Is that the best way to attach it to drift wood or should I just attach the moss with out it? Will the mesh slow its growth rate or cause any problems down the line?

I'm not sure about the mesh, but if there is rhyzome (brownish stiff pieces) attached to it, then try not to damage them. You could probably just cut it like fabric & attach the pieces to anything you want. If the "hairs" are long enough, you can just use some scissors to give it a little haircut. Attach them to the wood with fishing line & watch it grow!

I have a it works great, but make sure it is the plastic type and there is no sharp edges,I buy mine at the local craft store it like a buck a sheet which is like the size of notebook paper. You can do it to any type of plant, or do the whole back of your tank a moss wall check out my pics and what I've done I even use pvc to hold it down and its hiding spot as well

Thanks man,and I don't even use CO2, just Florish Excel twice a week,In my big planted tank I am not even using substrate it a very fine black sand, in pics 2-3&4.And like Jake said you can use fishing line to secure it to what ever you want, I have done this a lot in my tanks, and it works great but make sure its like 4-6lbs test so its thin and you won't be able to see it that much.I only use the mesh when I take a cutting off another plant and want to start a foreground or wall,What I do is figure out what size mesh you want to use, Then double the length so that you can fold it length wise, once you have done that spread the plant that you are using in between the mesh, Once you have done that I just use the fishing line to secure it together,And in no time the plant will work its way through the mesh pretty soon you will have a hole pad full,But make sure you close all the little gaps with fishing line, because if you have little fish they will find a way to get stuck in it.Good Luck and Hope it works out for you,

Good info! My java moss & plastic mesh bonzai tree is still filling out in the window terrarium at my office, but I hope it'll be done in a week or so!

I would like to see a pic when you finish that bonzai tree,I have been thinkin about doing something like that myself
