I was pretty sceptical buying online too. I used aqmagic.com. Pretty cheap, came in a reasonable amount of time, and was well packaged. They also responded to my email very quickly when I asked for a ship date.

Hm is that hair moss??? The moss I have is just plain ol' java moss, and I anchored that down with fishing line to a intake tube that I was not using, The easiest way is to use fishing line to tie it down to something, But if you want to start a carpet foreground affect or a wall, you would want to use mesh,Hope that answered your ???

Flame moss are nice grape vines. I've attached some on the ends of my vines to simulate a bonsai look and it works well. I also attached some onto my filter tubes to hind them. It took a good 3 months for it to completely cover the tubes but it was all worth it.

That's cool do you have any pics, I actually have a nice piece of grape vine soaking right now,And I was thinking of doing the same but with my java moss,I tried attaching it to my filter intake for awhile but it seamed like all the food would get stuck in the moss from the current of the filter

yeah the mesh works well. if your planning on tieing it to a piece of driftwood use thread, but ii you want to make mounds to form a border use the mesh and wrap it around a rock. this will create a really cool look and after it grows in the rock disapears and it looks like a giant flame moss ball...really cool

Thanks man,and I don't even use CO2, just Florish Excel twice a week,In my big planted tank I am not even using substrate it a very fine black sand, in pics 2-3&4.And like Jake said you can use fishing line to secure it to what ever you want, I have done this a lot in my tanks, and it works great but make sure its like 4-6lbs test so its thin and you won't be able to see it that much.I only use the mesh when I take a cutting off another plant and want to start a foreground or wall,What I do is figure out what size mesh you want to use, Then double the length so that you can fold it length wise, once you have done that spread the plant that you are using in between the mesh, Once you have done that I just use the fishing line to secure it together,And in no time the plant will work its way through the mesh pretty soon you will have a hole pad full,But make sure you close all the little gaps with fishing line, because if you have little fish they will find a way to get stuck in it.Good Luck and Hope it works out for you,

What kind of "mesh" are you using? Do you have any pics of the moss before it grows in and covers the mesh? I wanna see what it looks like because Id like to try to make a moss wall as well. Thank you.
