accross the tracks...
I just bought one of these guys yesterday,he is roughly 8 - 9" from tip of snout to tail,he has black markings on his tail and very tip of its top fin,i know its a male because he has the "cichlid hump".Now is this just another phony name to get a few extra bucks or is there such a thing as a "flamingo RD"?And has he pretty much hit full growth??Thanks, pics will follow......

Never heard of a Flamingo RD. It sounds like a name given by the seller. The presence of a Nuchal Hump doesn't guarantee a RD to be male. Many times females will have one. Venting is the best way to sex RDs. Future growth will depend on what fish you actually have, how it has been kept previously, genetics, and the way in which you care for it. RDs can reach at least 12".

Agree with Gruff. RD can reach 12-14", if it was sold as a flamingo I almost cringe thinking that it has blood parrot in it. That name is used up here on hybrids of RD/Parrot. How about a couple pics. Also not just Midas get a hump, my male has a very large one and his female has a small one. Now how bout some pics. :)

made up.

i wonder where his supplier/breeder is.

i have seen the black on midas/RD when they are young, but they usually outgrow it. what size? and pics...
