flash zebra

It'd appear the whole thread is more or less your answer (quite contraditory at the moment) :( :)

The thing that confuses me though is that I've never seen another jur with colors like mine. Ever. I read the entire thread and I'm not understanding how this would be an answer to me.

Normally you have stripey ones like the one that I posted that are pretty much black and yellow with stripes, or you have the flash zebras that have yellow colors with black marks. Mine is freaking bright purple with silvery white stripes. If she kept the silvery white stripes, I'd be perfectly fine with that. What I don't understand though is why my fish is the only one I've ever seen with such a bright purple color. I'm flummoxed as to why shes colored this way.

Iunno, I hope that makes sense. :/

I apologise. There was only one obvious question in your post. Let me be more clear.

C: What I mean though is that I always see fish looking like the one I'm attaching. Mine has a much stronger purplish color though and lacks the yellow in its stripes.
TBTB: When I google juruense images, i see various colorations, not always at all like the one you attached... but if one wants to pay attention to weak variations in hues of this or that color, then it may be good to keep in mind that color perception is subjective and varies from person to person and color rendering on photos is most often not true/misleading. I guess what you see in person on your fish is a more vivid purple. Your top pic appears to be the most purple and the bottom pic is clearly the least purple of all you posted, which may mean that it depends on lighting, angle, etc.

C: Will she get colors like this as she gets bigger? Shes's about 9" right now....

Makes better sense now. Thank you sir.

I apologize if I came across crass, that wasn't my intent. I have a bad habit of being very direct lol

No problems, friend! I found this

explained clearly we had different things in mind. Direct, clear, logical - yes. Crass, aggressive - not at all, IMO :) Obviously, I should have quoted only your clear question, not the whole post. Thus, I apologised :)

Take good care it of it

It will become like mine in due time

I just realized that is your fish I posted, huh? lol Its a good looking fish!

Thanks for your input guys. These are my favorite catfish. I can't wait till Ginger gets big enough to show those gorgeous colors.

Again, I apologize if I came across like an a-hole earlier. That wasn't my intent.

Well I've figured out why my fish had wierd colors.

And I feel retarded for this I might add.

Turns out she has unusually bluish colors because of the lighting I had on my tank. I've recently added some 5000k lights to balance out the 10000k/Actinic combos that I had on the tank and all of a sudden her colors looked much more like a 'normal' juruense. And very nice.

I feel stupid. >.<

Post a pic so we can see the difference? :)
