Alright some how my cat ended up with a bad cause of fleas. He gets a bath once a week and the flea drops so im getting him under control. My question is what can I use to kill the fleas around my apt. Its 800sq feet with nothing but carpet(expect the kitchen and bathroom), I have a 55 and 110 in the livingroom/dining room and a 5g in my bedroom so any sprays/bombs are out. What do yall suggest I do?

if you are using flea drops on your pets then keep a close eye on dates and keep it going, as for the rest of the house if bombs and the such are out then wash every thing in the house and vacuum, vacuum, vacuum.
that and your pets having meds for it should wipe them out.

what i do is buy big dog drops for my two cats, firstly to save money i can half the dose for each cat using syringe without a needle and secondly the chemical is a bit stronger than the cat chemicals. I do this every fortnight ever since my old cat had a near death experience with a tick.

A hand spray rather than a bomb type pesticide. It will take a while but spray by hand, it is your only way to be sure. By not using chemicals you are only prolonging the infestation, chemicals are the only way to be sure.

Go to the grocery store on the cleaning aisle... Borox its a green box with a team of mules on it. Its safe and fleas hate it. Spread it around and leave i carpet for a couple of day. Vacuum and repeat again.

I've used borax before and it worked. But I also just hand spray the heck out of my carpet with flea killer. And like stated before Vacuum ALOT, and to kill the fleas in the vacuum put the bag or container in the freezer.... Fleas are a pain in the a**, Good luck hope it gets better!

You could get a pro in with the spray, it is stronger than stuff the everyday guy can get hold of and it is targetted rather than indiscriminant bombing of your apartment. That way your tank will be safe.
This I know about, we had to have it done a few years back when one forces house we moved into had fleas in the carpet from the previous tenants dog. The guy sprayed the carpets, mattress, rugs etc. basically anything that was fibrous where they could live and breed. The proper chemicals last for months and they render eggs dead too, whereas some household sprays do not so the problem just comes back.
We were told to put all of our clothes in the wash, at least 60 degrees C with a boil wash being better.

use carpet and upholstery powder against flees you can get it at any pet store. all you do is spread over house and vacuum 24 hours later. the oder is not to bad and it worked great for me you might want to ventilate the house and cover your tank with a blanket during vacuuming as some of the dust tends to get air born from the vacuum. also make sure you shower your pet and spray or put drops on it before introducing him back to the clean house i just gave mine a shower during the 24 hour wait period.
