Flipping a 55?

What does everyone think about flipping a 55 on its face or rear.. Making the dimensions 48Lx19Wx12or13H.

Would this compromise thge integrity of the bottom?

Would I need to worry about the bottom ??

are you planing on ordering/ making a custom 55gal or modifying an existing 55? as long as you secure the bottom with a rim or something it should be fine.

i would reinforce the heel out of the new bottom and what was the old bottom would probably be thicker than the other glass, so make that the back. then just add a new face for the front and it should be ok. i think?

its depth from front to back is 18"...
or do you mean glass thickness?

No I'm sure it's 1/4 inch.. I just pulled the bottom that was broken off my fifty five and it is 1/4 inch just like the rest of the tank.. I'm gonna try it
