Hi
Was looking into buying floating lures they look like minnows but float . Anyone try them ?

Can they be used for bass in summer? The lake I usually go to is loaded with spawning sunfish and dont want to fish there for couple months till the suns have finished raising their fry .

There is another lake in area but loaded with under water weeds (havent seen any sunfish but have seen bass) . Regular lures will be a pain ESP for me as not the best at fishing .
I was thinking of floating lures . I prefer roaches on hooks but cant store roaches at work lol and can just keep lures in car trunk for after work fishing .

thanks

I have used Hula Poppers pretty succesfully with Bass. You throw it out in a likely spot and slowly twitch it as you reel in, giving it a good yank (pop!) every once in a while. It is awesome when they take the lure off the surface!

Great thanks for the info . Glad you told me how to reel it in as wasnt sure of the speed .
They look good in the magazine going to order some now

Zara spook

spook is by far the most productive i feel, I fish an average of 2 tournaments a month and i consider it one of my go to lures. If you have any questions will be happy to help out as far as color selection and method of walking the dog which can take some practice feel free to message me

i have a ton of top water lures and love the Zara spook, yo zuri made a pretty sweet popper as well, also the zoom fluke's are pretty effective subsurface twitching is always fun

even though you asked for topwater why not a spinner bait they are almost weedless.

zara spooks are great, i like the jiter bugs as well. spinner baits will work to, just fish them at the surface
