Hi
Was looking into buying floating lures they look like minnows but float . Anyone try them ?

Can they be used for bass in summer? The lake I usually go to is loaded with spawning sunfish and dont want to fish there for couple months till the suns have finished raising their fry .

There is another lake in area but loaded with under water weeds (havent seen any sunfish but have seen bass) . Regular lures will be a pain ESP for me as not the best at fishing .
I was thinking of floating lures . I prefer roaches on hooks but cant store roaches at work lol and can just keep lures in car trunk for after work fishing .

thanks

poppers for largemouth, smallies dont seem to like the poppin motion from my experience and like the same lure just winding slow.

Jitterbug and Hula Popper have always done well for me. Also, try a floating rubber worms...don't remember brand but have done decent with them. I'm gonna have to try the scum frog, just for the name alone.

I love top water fishing for bass. I use all of these depending on situation:

Floating Rapala, X-Rap, Skitter Pop, Plastic Frogs, Floating plastic worms. The frog is great in dense shallow cover.
