any good floating plants that could survive off a light bulb from homedepot? :)

By light bulb from Home Depot, so you mean a fluorescent shop light or an incandescent bulb? If it's fluorescent, then some salvinia species will probably do okay. They are larger than duckweed, so they're easier to control. You could also try frogbit, which is larger and has very long feathery roots that some people love and some people hate.

thanks. im just tryin to make my trank look nicer. doesnt really matter what kind of plants as long as it floats and will stay alive.

Howdy,

Try cultivating floating Hydrocotyle leucocephala. Looks like water lillies :thumbsup.

I know that I have wintered over some water lettuce from time to time in some of my tanks! I dont use a lid though and I have a couple of power compacts on the tank but you could give it a shot!
