floating poop?

Not feeding them for a day certainly shouldn't do them any harm.

do you guys think i should starve them for a day to get everything out of their system? and then continue feeding them?

It is ok to starve older fish, but juvies wouldn't be recommended, and a day isn't exactly starving, my Piranha eat 1-2x per week, but their obviously different.

I always say a hungry fish is a healthy fish, species that just sit their lethargic because they are fat, Overfed will die much quicker from fat deposits and the risk that goes with all that.

How old and big are your cichlas?

my babies are about 4 inches.

I would cut fd shrimp and switch to some NLS thera A, check out the ingredients:

I have had tremendous success with the brand and IME best food on the market, I've tried hikari and omega one for some time and not even close.
