Hello; The home improvement show often use material made of plastic with dimples, bumps or other projections. They are used to line showers, on concrete walls and such so that any moisture that gets under or behind will have air flow and will be able to dry out. Should someone want to try something like that I imagine the folks at the big box stores should be able to point some out.

Good idea. Man I am so old school it's sad sometimes.

Main tank has hardwood, other tank has carpet. As long as you dont mess up big time on water changes or have major leaks, nothing really to worry about. Imo, I'd go hard wood as it's easier to clean and is more durable than laminated flooring when it comes to water contact. Or you can go with tiles as well.

Yes they can its just sounds more weird and complicated than they are. In fact all our is is a mobile home that formerly had stuff on the bottom like wheels and axels etc that were removed and then the mobile home was placed on on basement with EXACT specs to match and attached

Definitely sounds like hardwood with some type of buffer under the tank is the way to go
