Florida Cichlids...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
To be honest I didn't know there was a fishing Forum lol. I usually am just in the Cichlids section lol I'll check out the fishing section.

And as for ultra light gear, it's the way to go. There isn't much better then that drag screaming in your ear lol. But I digress lol

I didn't like seeing the fish thrown back in like a rock :-(
Also surely that tank is a little small for that?
Anyway! Thanks for sharing, enjoyed reading everyone's post's
It's scary how human interference is effecting the
Natural habitats of areas not native to certain species!
I would add, if it's not native to that area, it could have come from a none pure line to begin with, so the term 'wild' would be wrong because it wouldn't be native and pure from that area.

Yeah, it's not me in the video just an example. And definitely a small tank. But the fish is lucky he is thrown back. If FWC had its way it would have been cut up and used as bait or simply discarded. Lol

So I live in South West Florida, and I was just curious. If I go out and travel south abit and catch a Midas, Jag, Oscar, Mayan, ect ect in a Canal. Would it still be considered wild caught? Because technically that's wild caught... However it would have originated from a pet store breed stock since they are non native species. Just something I was pondering while setting my minnow traps yesterday.

I don't know if this will help or not I IrishLad2017
