Speaking of snook, My sisters boyfriend ( who lives in miami ) was fishing in his lake that hes fished in sence he was lil just cought another snook today ( 27" )
he also catches Pbass,Lmb,chichlids, arowanas, and tarpon in.

Its crazy how weird the stock is in this lake, and about 10 miles down it connects to the ocean, so its brackish.

I would kill to fish in a diverse population like that, but it is unfortunate that the dumping of tropicals has destroyed the native habitat.

thats totally possible... theres a lot of varieties of snook. Like the Fat Snook can live in totally fresh water...
you can pretty much concider your friends lake freshwater. A lake doesnt have a lot of flow and if it connects 10 miles down then by the time the salt reached his part of the lake it would be very very dilute.

just found this awesome pic of a fat snook in a tank (fresh water) thought id share it

the only problem is that it is illegal to posess those game fish under the legal sizes. i have thought of the same. and the worse part is i have a spot were i catch 4 inch snook all day :)

You try to keep an undersize snook your asking for jail time, but there are now breeding programs near where i live in Sarasota at Mote Marine labratories so maybe in the future it will be allowed. Since the program started there are a lot of snook around here. awesome fish.

There's also a fish we call "ladyfish" its a close relative of the tarpon, and people consider it a trash fish- there are no regulations on it they are everywhere. You should look into it...
