guppy- ive always wanted one. would it be safe to add one to a tank with the following: C. frontosas, N. leleupi, N. brevis, N. caudopunctatus, A. calvus, J. marlieri, J. ornatus, J. dickfeldi, C. borleyi Redfin, L. careoleus, Clown Loach, Madtom Catfish. smaller fish are are 1-2"

Should work though they do prefer temps a bit lower than your loac, also they tend to be fin nippers (like other flatfish). Don't trust them with fish that are to small, a 2-3" flounder can eat guppy sized fish.

Both of these species tend to breed in heavy brackish to salt water environments.

I too live here in florida, actually not to far from the peace river. As far as needing a permit to keep these, I would check into it, or just take the chance. I know that I have caught bass around me and kept them before and have had people tell me that it is illegal. Oh and the area of the peace river that your talking about is not really brackish, but it is not unheard of for fish to live in freshwater when young and slowly work there way to salt water through their life, just another thing to check.
