a florida gar will reach 20+ inches w/out any problem in captivity. they grow at roughly an inch a month.

Ive had mine about three - four weeks now and it used stay at the top and now it just stays on the bottom and doesnt move at all, Is this Normal!?

does it still go up for air?
does it eat?
if both are yes then yes this is completly normal

I refer to Gar as lazy fish lol

Gar have a personnality like no other fish sometimes they will spend days on the bottom just kinda laying there chiling out and then the next day darting fro one side to the other having fun. Don't even play when it's feeding time though

i have a gar with the same behavior as Zaminpirlo's.
But it does go up for air and eats my feeders. I guess its just normal... His spots are becoming more visible now at 5 inches.
