Florida Gar needs company

I am supprised to hear about the clown knife presenting a challenge for a gar! I have kept my CK at different times with both my Floridas and my LNG. No interaction at all.

I have had SO many challenges with aggression between the CK and some other (Ex)tankmates though.

Major problems occured between CK & Red Bay Snook & Pike Cichlid sp. ven

It also does not seem fond of the HiFin Pleco, but no overt aggression.

I have my spotted gar with a few tank mates and hasn't seen a problem yet.i got a rck, bichir, fire eel and arowana and they are great together.the gar will spend alot laying with the bichir.and as far as food goes the gar has no problems getting his share.

I have a CK in with my FL gar as well as 2 silver aros and 2 hi-fin plecos. No issues with any of them.
