Florida Gar question

i have a question about the flordia as well...(figured i'd just jump on this thread in stead of making, own since it's along the same lines) cause i am looking at getting a flordia gar since the local shop selling it for 25.but i don't wanna buy the one thats like 8 or so inchs long and have it hurt its self or my tank...cause all i have and am not able to upgrade tanks is a 55 gallon tank living at home and on the second floor bedroom doesn't help either.

If u don't have plans on upgrading PlZ do not buy this fish they grow fairly fast to 12 or so inches I'n no time . Also heads up on tank mates anything smaller then it will be eatten I lost a 4 inch snake heAd to my 13inch f gar I Dono how he fit him I'n it mouth? Just a heads up

If you can't upgrade tanks within the year I don't think a gar is for you. 55 will become too small too quickly, especially if it's 11-12 inches wide.
