I have a 75 gallon aquarium and I was wondering, how do I keep it cool? I haven't been using a heater in my tank for this summer because its upwards to 100 degrees outside. Its pretty hot in my room because I was shutting my door all the time and not letting air circulate so it got really hot. Especially since I have a beast computer with 3 monitors running a lot. So back on the question. How do I keep my tank cool? At the moment, the tank stays at about 81 degrees -which all the fish in my tank can handle really- but I wanted to cool it down so it would be the best for my fish. I've tried ice in a bag but I feel as if I tried a full bag of ice, the temp. will fluctuate too much and will stress my fish. I just want to cool it down a couple degrees

you can

1) on aircon
2) get a normal fan to blow at it
3) get a aquarium fan

but evaporation will likely increase with fan blowing on it...

First of all why do you keep your room door shut with all that heat going and how can you stand it?I suggest you stop playing around in there and get an air conditioner.....anything else is pretty much a waste.

Whoa. Not sure if you were trying to be rude but... Anyways. My room was already hot before I even got this tank because its at the front of the house and gets direct sunlight so it heats my room up. I would just shut my door for privacy. Its always open now and still kinda hot.

No no,wasn't trying to be rude....just was trying to understand why you were tolerating those climate conditions in your room. You remind me of my son as he is very concerned with his privacy to the point that he keeps his door shut most of the time.Sometimes I have to get after him to open the door and let fresh air in and SOME of the heat out....and he has four windows in his room lol.
I stand by my earlier suggestion of getting yourself an air conditioner for your and your fishes comfort.

not sure if his parents will allow him to leave the air con on if he is not at home..... thus a fan may still be required...
I didn't see any mention of parents but if that is the case then it is certainly up to his parents to decide or allow....be it an a/c or a fan.

logical deduction. you don't have to close the room door for privacy if the house is yours...

but of course i could be wrong...

I've got AC running all the time. 2 fans running. Atm I have 1 smaller fan pointing towards the tank and its gotten quite cooler.

It could also be shared with a co renter which is why I didn't assume or deduce anything. All I have is what he or she revealed in the posts.
