I would say it is 90% likely to be one of the very easy to find and often aquacultured Flordia gar but there is some chance that a spotted could be there....Maybe...I would really like to see some pics of it in a few months or so when it gets some more size on it and will show the fish a bit better.

Keep us updated on it...Might be just a bit for a final answer on this one.

A direct Key to the ID of your fish will be how it's nose develops in the next few months. At 23 cm it is a little small to be absolute sure..I really do think it is a Florida but lets give this one a few inches of growth and see how it comes out.
